b.ring measures your heart rate by detecting blood flow in finger capillaries using an optical sensor (PPG). The following environmental factors can cause temporary errors.

1. Check for sensor debris: Sweat, cosmetics, dust, or other debris on the inner sensor surface can distort the light and produce inaccurate values. Wipe the sensor area thoroughly with a soft dry cloth or a wet wipe and let it dry completely before wearing.

2. Loose fit: If the ring is too loose, external light (sunlight, indoor lighting, etc.) can enter the sensor and interfere with measurements. Wear it in a size that fits snugly on your finger for better accuracy.

3. Temporary signal errors: Strong gripping or stretching of the hand, or activities that compress the finger heavily, can temporarily affect blood flow and cause errors. Compare again while you’re resting comfortably.
