Connection Issue

  • The smart ring isn’t being found or can’t be connected at all.

When the device isn’t recognized, you’ll need to reset the smartphone’s Bluetooth cache and the device’s power state.

    1. Remove from the smartphone’s native Bluetooth list (most important): If b.ring is paired directly in your smartphone’s [Settings] > [Bluetooth] paired-devices list, the app won’t be able to find it. If you see b.ring in that list, be sure to tap [Unpair] or [Forget This Device], then reconnect from the app.

    2. Place on the charging dock and search again: The device may be completely discharged or in a power-saving state. Place the ring on the charging dock, confirm the charging light (power supplied) is on, and search for the device in the app while it stays in that state.

    3. Select the correct model: When trying to connect in the app, double-check that you’ve selected the exact b.ring model you’re using (G2, Pro, etc.).

  • The connection (sync) between the smartphone and ring keeps dropping.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices may have background communication temporarily restricted by the battery management policies of mobile operating systems (Google Android / Apple iOS).

    1. Allow background app permission (required)

    2. Android: In smartphone [Settings] > [Apps] > [b.ring] > [Battery], change the setting to “Unrestricted.”

    3. iOS: In smartphone [Settings] > [b.ring], enable “Background App Refresh.”

    4. Bluetooth interference and distance: Due to the nature of Bluetooth, having many wireless devices nearby (Wi-Fi router, other Bluetooth devices, etc.) or being too far from your smartphone can disconnect the connection. When sync drops, restart the app while keeping the ring and smartphone close together.

  • Bluetooth sync (connection) doesn’t work at all.

If your device won’t connect, please try the following steps in order.

    1. Check the smartphone’s native Bluetooth settings (most important)

    2. If b.ring is already paired directly in your smartphone’s [Settings] > [Bluetooth] device list, the app won’t be able to find it.

    3. If it’s already registered there, tap [Unpair] or [Forget This Device] to remove it completely.

    4. Then launch the b.ring app and search for and connect to the ring from within the app.

    5. Try connecting while charging: The battery may be fully discharged, or the device may have entered a temporary sleep (standby) state. Place the ring on the charging dock, confirm the charging light is on (power is supplied), and try connecting in the app while it stays in that state.

    6. Restart Bluetooth and the app: Turn your smartphone’s Bluetooth off and on, then force-close and relaunch the b.ring app.

  • Syncing keeps stopping or failing partway through.

Sync interruptions are usually caused by communication distance or process limits on your smartphone.

    1. Keep the app on screen: While syncing, don’t send the app to the background (don’t go to the home screen) or navigate to other menus—please wait until it completes.

    2. Keep the screen on: If your smartphone screen turns off (locks) during sync, OS policies may cut off communication. Keep the screen on.

    3. Maintain close proximity: Due to the nature of the Bluetooth antenna, keeping the smart ring and smartphone as close together as possible (essentially touching) during sync is most stable.

    4. Update to the latest version: For stable connections, always check that the b.ring app is up to date in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Charging / Battery Issue

  • Charging proceeds but is too slow, or stops at specific points (75%, 80%, 99%, etc.).

b.ring has overheating/overcharging protection systems for battery life and safety. If charging efficiency drops or it stops at a specific point, please check the following.

    1. Use of low-power chargers is recommended: If you use a high-output fast charger (PD/QC charger) or a multi-port charger, the smart ring’s safety circuit may activate, cutting off current or making charging unstable. Whenever possible, connect to a standard 5V/1A (15W or less) adapter or a USB port on a PC.

    2. Battery protection range: To prevent battery performance degradation, charging speed may intentionally slow once the battery is in the high-voltage range above 80%. This is normal battery management behavior.

    3. Check the seating of Pro models: For b.ring Pro models, if the position on the charging dock is slightly off, the charging indicator (LED) may turn on but the actual charging current may be weak. After placing the ring on the dock, gently rotate it left and right so the contacts align perfectly.

  • Even when placed on the charging dock, it doesn’t charge at all.

If charging doesn’t progress, check the physical contact condition and how it’s seated on the charging dock.

    1. Check the dock play and reposition (normal design spec): The b.ring charging dock has a small amount of structural play so users can easily insert and remove the ring. After placing the ring on the dock, gently rotate it left and right so the dock’s contacts and the ring’s contacts align precisely, then check that the charging light (LED) turns on.

    2. Clean the charging contacts: If sweat or debris is on the brass-colored charging terminals on the inside of the ring or on the dock’s pins, current can’t flow. Wipe the contact area thoroughly with a dry cloth or cotton swab, then place the ring back on the dock.

    3. Try a different charging head or cable: With high-output fast chargers (PD chargers, etc.), current may be cut off to protect the device. Try connecting the cable to a standard adapter (5V/1A) or a USB port on a PC.

  • The battery drains much faster than usual.

If your b.ring battery seems to be draining unusually fast, please try the following step-by-step optimization process.

    1. Check the initial battery optimization period: When you first buy the product or right after a firmware update, the ring learns and stabilizes its model of your biometric data, which can temporarily increase power consumption. Wear it continuously for at least a week and see whether battery efficiency stabilizes.

    2. If discharging is still fast after a week, there may be a sync mismatch between the ring’s internal measurement timer and the app settings.

Step 1: In the app [My Page] > [Auto Measurement Mode], temporarily change the measurement frequency to a different mode.
Step 2: Reset the device (disconnect, then reconnect).
Step 3: Go back into [Auto Measurement Mode] and restore your preferred measurement mode.

    3. Adjust the auto-measurement interval: The shorter the auto-measurement interval, the more often the sensor activates, draining the battery faster. Adjust the measurement interval to a longer setting to match your usage.

Measurement Error

  • Workout mode records seem off or aren’t saving correctly.

Workout mode is a feature that simultaneously measures real-time data and links with your smartphone’s GPS.

    1. Check location (GPS) permissions: To record an accurate route and distance during workouts, check that b.ring’s location permission is set to “Always Allow” in your smartphone [Settings].

    2. Sync immediately after ending the workout: After finishing, be sure to press the [End Workout] button in the app to clearly close the session—this is required for data to save properly. Right after ending, run a manual sync from the home screen to safely transfer the workout data to the app.

    3. Don’t forget to end the session: If workout mode is left on for a long time, abnormal data may be recorded or previous records may become corrupted.

  • Blood oxygen readings differ from reality and come out too high or otherwise strange.

b.ring uses an optical sensor to analyze blood flow at the skin’s surface and estimate blood oxygen saturation.

    1. General wellness product notice: This product is not a medical device—it’s intended for general health management and wellness reference. As such, comparing the data measured by the device with measurements from a medical device on equal terms, or interpreting it for medical diagnostic purposes, is difficult.

    2. Block external light interference: If the ring is worn loosely and there are gaps between your skin and the sensor, external light sources (sunlight or indoor lighting) can enter the sensor, causing blood oxygen values to be abnormally high or unstable. Recheck the wearing direction and size so the ring fits without rotating on your finger.

  • Blood oxygen (SpO2) data isn’t being recorded automatically.

Blood oxygen saturation measurement is very sensitive to small movements and how the ring is worn. If automatic recording is being missed, please check the following.

    1. Correct direction and snug fit: The red LED sensor (or the b logo) on the inside of the ring must face the palm side (under your finger). If the ring is worn loosely on your finger with gaps, light loss will cause measurements to be automatically canceled. Wear it in a size that fits snugly on your finger.

    2. Allow smartphone background permissions: The mobile OS’s battery-saving features can block automatic background data collection. In your smartphone’s [Settings] > [Apps] > [b.ring], change the battery setting to “Unrestricted” and make sure Bluetooth and location permissions are always allowed.

    3. Check sensor operation: When you manually measure blood oxygen via “Measure Now” on the app’s home screen, check that the red LED on the inside of the ring lights up properly.

  • The temperature (or skin temperature) looks too high or strange.

    Please check the following.

    1. Skin temperature may not exactly match a regular thermometer reading.
    2. Keep the app and firmware up to date.
    3. Turn the relevant measurement item OFF and then ON again.
    4. Check whether other measurements also look abnormal.
    5. Also check whether battery drain is unusually fast.

  • The temperature (or skin temperature) reading is different from a regular thermometer and seems off.

Understanding the characteristics of the temperature data b.ring measures will help you use the data correctly.

    1. Skin temperature vs core body temperature (normal spec info): The value b.ring measures is not the “core body temperature” measured by a medical thermometer (under the tongue or armpit), but the “skin temperature” on the surface of your finger. Skin temperature varies constantly with outside temperature, sleep environment (temperature under your blanket), how tightly the ring fits, etc., so it’s normal for it to differ from a regular thermometer reading.

    2. Use as trend data: This feature isn’t intended for absolute body temperature measurement—use it to monitor the trend of changes against your usual nighttime skin temperature baseline and detect changes in your condition.

    3. Check the snug fit: If the ring is too loose, outside air temperature can affect the sensor and produce abnormally low or high readings, so wear it in a size that fits your finger.

  • Heart rate data feels different from reality. (Too high or too low)

b.ring measures your heart rate by detecting blood flow in finger capillaries using an optical sensor (PPG). The following environmental factors can cause temporary errors.

    1. Check for sensor debris: Sweat, cosmetics, dust, or other debris on the inner sensor surface can distort the light and produce inaccurate values. Wipe the sensor area thoroughly with a soft dry cloth or a wet wipe and let it dry completely before wearing.

    2. Loose fit: If the ring is too loose, external light (sunlight, indoor lighting, etc.) can enter the sensor and interfere with measurements. Wear it in a size that fits snugly on your finger for better accuracy.

    3. Temporary signal errors: Strong gripping or stretching of the hand, or activities that compress the finger heavily, can temporarily affect blood flow and cause errors. Compare again while you’re resting comfortably.

  • Heart rate isn’t recorded and shows up empty.

If there’s no heart rate data for a specific period or an entire day, please try the following steps.

    1. Reset the Auto Measurement Mode timer: There may be a temporary sync mismatch between the ring’s internal measurement timer and the app settings. In the app, go to [My Page] > [Auto Measurement Mode], temporarily change the measurement interval to a different mode, reset the device (disconnect and reconnect), then restore the desired mode.

    2. Check the sensor lights: When an auto-measurement cycle begins, check that the green LED inside the ring lights up properly.

    3. Adjust the wearing position: If the sensor is positioned over a knuckle or another bony part of the finger with little flesh, blood flow measurement can be difficult. Move the ring slightly so the sensor sits on the soft inner part of your finger.

  • The “Measure Now” function isn’t working.

If the “Measure Now” function fails when you want to take a measurement at a specific moment, please check the following.

    1. Minimize movement during measurement (most important): The PPG sensor in the smart ring measures subtle blood flow, so any finger or body movement during measurement distorts the signal and cancels the reading. Rest your hand comfortably on a flat table and stay still and quiet until the measurement completes.

    2. Check sensor operation (LED): When measurement starts, check that the designated light inside the ring flashes properly (heart rate: green LED; blood oxygen: red LED). If the light doesn’t come on, you’ll need to check your Bluetooth connection or battery level.

    3. Wear it snugly: When the sensor is in light, close contact with the inside of your finger, light loss is minimized and measurement is more accurate.

  • Sleep data isn’t being shown at all.

If sleep data is missing, check whether the conditions required for the device to detect sleep (heart rate and motion measurement) are being met.

    1. Check sensor direction and snug fit: Make sure the ring’s internal sensor (or the b logo) is facing the palm side (under your finger). If the ring rotates during sleep so the sensor faces the back of your finger, or if it’s too loose, it won’t be able to detect the blood flow signals needed for sleep determination and won’t record data.

    2. Check whether other data is being recorded: If other biometric data such as heart rate or blood oxygen also aren’t showing, check that [Auto Measurement Mode] is properly enabled under [My Page] in the app.

    3. Restore data and sync manually: Due to platform (Google/Apple) policies, background sync is restricted while the app is closed. In the morning, open the b.ring app and pull down on the home screen to complete a manual sync all the way through, or run [Restore Data] in the app menu.

  • Sleep is recorded as too long, too short, or otherwise inaccurate.

b.ring measures sleep stages by analyzing heart rate variability (HRV) and subtle movements together. For more accurate sleep measurement, please check the following.

    1. Correct wearing direction and snug fit (most important): Wear the ring so the internal sensor (or the b logo) faces the palm side (under your finger). The PPG sensor needs to be in close contact with the blood vessels on the inside of your finger for accurate sleep analysis. If the ring rotates on your finger, records may be missed.

    2. Pre-sleep behavior: If you lie on the bed and use your phone for a long time before sleeping, or rest quietly, the device may interpret it as “sleep onset” and record a longer sleep time.

    3. Movement during sleep: If you toss and turn a lot, or your heart rate changes rapidly (e.g., during dreams), the device may interpret it as “awake” and record a shorter time than actual sleep. As continued wear builds up data, accuracy improves.

  • The sensor calibration menu isn’t visible, or calibration has no effect.

Sensor calibration is an auxiliary function for improving measurement accuracy and is applied differently depending on the model and firmware version.

    1. Check supported models: Sensor calibration is a menu that’s only enabled on certain models with specific sensors. Please verify the detailed specifications of the b.ring model you’re using.

    2. Allow time for data to accumulate: You may not see a big change immediately after running sensor calibration. To let the calibrated sensor learn your new movement patterns, wear the ring continuously for at least a day after calibration and observe the data.

    3. Keep everything up to date: Occasionally, an outdated app version may cause menus to be missing or errors to occur, so please keep both the app and the ring’s firmware up to date.

  • Data for a certain time period is empty or missing.

If some time periods of data appear to be missing, please check the following.

    1. Background sync policy: For battery efficiency and security, b.ring doesn’t send data in real time while the app is closed. If you’ve gone a while without opening the app, it may take time to retrieve all the missed data—please keep the app open and wait a moment.

    2. Smartphone time settings: In your smartphone settings, check that [Date & Time] is set to “Automatic (use network-provided time).” If the time is set manually, data timestamps can become inconsistent and not display properly.

    3. Time worn and charging status: While the ring is off your finger or sitting on the charging dock, biometric data and activity are not measured.

  • Step count differs from my phone. (Too many or too few)

The smartphone and smart ring detect motion differently because of where they’re worn and how they sense movement, so differences in data are normal.

    1. Difference in measurement method: A smartphone typically detects “pelvic movement” while in your pocket or bag, while the smart ring measures steps based on “hand swing and motion.”

    2. Effect of everyday activities: When you do activities that involve a lot of hand movement (driving, brushing teeth, typing, gardening, etc.), your step count may temporarily appear higher than expected.

    3. How to compare accurately: When comparing data, use the “total daily activity” as the reference. Also, wear the ring in a size that fits snugly so it doesn’t rotate on your finger.

  • The step count isn’t displayed at all or doesn’t update.

If your b.ring step data isn’t showing up, please check the following in order.

    1. Check the correct wearing direction: Make sure the sensor inside the smart ring faces the palm side (under your finger). The ring should fit snugly on your finger—not too loose—for accurate measurement.

    2. Run a manual sync in the app: Due to mobile OS (Google/Apple) policies, real-time syncing is limited when the app isn’t open. Launch the b.ring app and pull down on the home screen to complete a manual sync.

    3. Compare home screen vs detail screen: The number on the home screen updates relatively quickly, but the activity detail screen may take a little longer as data is aggregated.

    4. Test with a few steps: Wear the ring and walk 20–30 steps or more, then reopen the app to see whether the number changes.

Appearance Issue

  • The product, packaging, or cable arrived damaged.

If you discover damage or a defect right after receiving the product, please check the following for your safety and contact customer support immediately.

    1. Stop using it: If the cable’s sheath is peeling or the charging dock contacts are damaged, it may cause a short circuit or device failure. Stop connecting it to power right away.

    2. Take photos: For accurate and fast exchange/return processing, please take photos showing the damage on the outer box (shipping box), the product packaging, the device, and the cable.

    3. Contact customer support: Send the photos along with your point of purchase and order number through [My Page > Inquiries] in the b.ring app or to our official email (j-help@apposter.com), and we’ll respond quickly.

Other Inquiries

  • Login or sign-up isn’t going through.

If errors occur during b.ring account creation or login, please check the email format and password rules below.

    1. Check supported email formats: When signing up, please use a standard personal email address from Google (Gmail), Naver, Kakao, etc. Some specialized carrier-only emails or emails containing special characters (e.g., plus-messaging linked emails) may not work for account creation due to system security and verification email restrictions.

    2. Don’t confuse passwords: The password you enter at login is not the email password from a portal site (Naver, Google, etc.), but the dedicated b.ring password you set yourself when signing up for the b.ring app. If you don’t remember your password, reset it via [Forgot Password] at the bottom.

  • I keep getting logged out, or my login state keeps being cleared.

A login state not being maintained can occur due to account security policies or multi-device access.

    1. Multi-device simultaneous access limit: For the security of personal health data, b.ring allows only one smartphone (device) login per account. If you try to log into the same account on another smartphone or tablet app, the security token on the previously logged-in smartphone expires and you’ll automatically be logged out.

    2. Check social login link status: If you’re linked via a social account (Google, Apple, Kakao, etc.), security updates or expired authentication on that social platform app may cause logout. In that case, log in via social login again.

    3. Regular server maintenance: For stable service, login sessions may be safely reset immediately after app server maintenance and updates, requiring you to log in again.

  • Biometric data graphs aren’t visible, or the app’s screen layout is abnormal.

Issues where the app’s interface or graphs appear broken or don’t load are usually caused by temporary data (cache) conflicts inside the smartphone, or app version compatibility issues.

    1. Update to the latest version (top priority): Open the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and check that the b.ring app is updated to the latest version. Due to server system overhauls and similar changes, screens may not display properly on older app versions.

    2. Fully close and restart the app process: Open the task manager on your smartphone, fully swipe up to close (force-close) the b.ring app, then relaunch it to refresh the screen cache.

    3. Submit the error screen: If screens still appear broken or don’t show after the steps above, send your smartphone model (e.g., Galaxy S24, iPhone 15), OS version information, and a capture of the error screen to customer support, and we’ll quickly issue a patch.

  • The calories or nutrient values in the AI Diet analysis seem off.

AI Diet analysis is AI technology that estimates approximate nutritional content based on the visual appearance of food photos you’ve registered.

    1. Use the manual nutrient correction feature: Photo analysis results may differ from your actual meal due to cooking methods or portion sizes. On the analyzed screen, you can tap directly on calories as well as carbohydrate, protein, and fat values to manually correct them to match your actual intake.

    2. Prevent input errors (enter in integers): If, after manually correcting values and saving, the values reset or don’t save properly, try changing the input to integer units (e.g., 151g instead of 150.5g, dropping the decimal).

    3. Report data errors: If a common food’s nutrient values are consistently and significantly misrecognized, capture the food name and the nutrient analysis screen and send it to customer support. We’ll reflect it when updating the AI learning model.

  • The AI Diet function won’t run, or it can’t recognize food photos.

If the AI Diet analysis function isn’t working properly, you’ll need to check your smartphone’s security permissions and server communication.

    1. Check camera and media access permissions: In your smartphone [Settings] > [Apps] > [b.ring] > [Permissions], verify that both “Camera” and “Photos/Media (Gallery)” access permissions are set to allowed. If permission is denied, taking photos or uploading images won’t be possible.

    2. Try importing from the gallery (album): If errors occur when shooting in real time with the in-app camera function, first take a photo with your smartphone’s default camera app, then upload the image via “Import from gallery (album)” in the b.ring app.

    3. Check your network connection: Image analysis is processed via a cloud AI server, so please try it in an environment with a smooth internet connection (Wi-Fi, or a strong LTE/5G signal).

  • The AI report’s analysis content seems different from the actual data.

The AI report is a function that takes the raw biometric data (graphs) recorded in the app and uses AI to interpret your overall condition and convert it into text.

    1. Check the original data graphs: First, on the app’s home screen and detail view, verify that the day’s measured raw data graphs (heart rate, sleep time, etc.) are displaying correctly.

    2. Data accumulation and learning period: In the early stages when there’s not enough information about your daily patterns, temporary errors in AI analysis can occur. Accuracy improves as more data accumulates.

    3. How to report to customer support: If the raw graph data looks completely normal but only the AI report’s summary text comes out as the exact opposite, it may be a data processing error. Capture both the raw data graph screen and the AI report screen for that date and send them to customer support, and we’ll work with the development team to quickly improve the logic.

  • The AI report doesn’t appear, or the screen keeps showing as loading.

The AI report is a service generated by detailed analysis on the server based on the user’s biometric data. If the screen isn’t displaying properly, please try the following steps.

    1. Verify biometric data sync is complete: AI analysis only begins after the day’s accumulated data (sleep, heart rate, etc.) is 100% synced to the smartphone app. First pull down the app’s home screen to fully complete a manual sync, then check the report.

    2. Check network connection: The AI report communicates with the server in real time, so loading may take longer if your cellular data or Wi-Fi connection is unstable.

    3. Refresh your account session: Your login information may have temporarily errored. Log out from [My Page] in the app and log back in, then check the screen.

  • Firmware update doesn’t progress or stops at a specific point (e.g., 50%).

Firmware updates are a delicate operation that transmits system files directly to the ring via Bluetooth (BLE) communication. If errors occur during the update, set up the following conditions and try again.

    1. Ensure sufficient battery: If power is cut during an update, fatal errors can occur on the device. Charge the ring to at least 50% or safely place it on the charging dock so power is supplied during the update.

    2. Maintain close proximity and reduce interference: Until the update is complete, place the smart ring and smartphone right next to each other (essentially touching) and don’t move them. Briefly turning off other nearby wireless devices (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth devices, etc.) can reduce wireless interference.

    3. Keep the app on screen: While the update is in progress, never close the b.ring app or switch to the background (going to the home screen, opening other apps). If the smartphone screen turns off, communication may be cut off, so keep the screen on.

  • Music and media control functions aren’t working correctly.

If b.ring’s control function isn’t working temporarily, you’ll need to check your smartphone’s OS permission settings and the app’s state.

    1. Check smartphone permissions: The smart ring’s control function uses the smartphone’s background media permissions. In your smartphone [Settings], make sure both “Notification access” and “Device control permission” for the b.ring app are turned on.

    2. Update to the latest version: Media control functions depend heavily on compatibility with the smartphone OS (Android/iOS) version. Please update the b.ring app to the latest version in the Google Play Store or App Store.

    3. Report errors: If it doesn’t work with certain media apps (e.g., a specific music streaming app), or freezes after a specific button press, please send the symptoms (screen capture or description) to customer support so our development team can work on compatibility improvements.
